In the aftermath of the devastating 2001 Kutch earthquake, two young graduates envisioned creating a consultancy firm that would redefine structural engineering practices in India. Witnessing the consequences of poor construction practices, lack of byelaw enforcement, and limited disaster awareness among professionals, they laid the foundation for Bhagat & Associates with a mission to bring safety, quality, and awareness to the forefront of structural design.

Since its inception, Bhagat & Associates has been committed to spreading awareness among builders, architects, engineers, and the public about the importance of understanding the behavior and requirements of buildings.
